Bach’s Orgelbüchlein is truly a masterclass in composition; each chorale prelude a miniature gem, displaying Bach’s refined genius in communicating music so perfect across such a small amount of time. Dupré’s rarely performed Le Chemin de la Croix is one of the most intensely moving organ works of the 20th century; it is a journey which tells the story of Jesus’s final hours in this world, beginning in the court of Pontius Pilate and ending with His body being laid in the tomb.
