Whilst at Chetham’s he continued taking part in competitions and regular concerts, winning First Place in the Chetham’s Bach Competition, twice winning top prizes in the EPTA UK national finals, and taking part in many duets and ensembles.
Michael is now in his third year of undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) studying under Helen Krizos, whilst at RNCM he has been awarded the Peter Donohoe Prize for outstanding pianistic ability. He enjoys taking part in musical projects with others, and apart from playing in ensembles, works locally as an accompanist for instrumentalists, as well as several choirs in Manchester.

The Jestour Piano Quartet is an ensemble made up of final year students from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). Since its formation in 2024, they’ve received various coachings and participated in the college’s Weil chamber music prize as finalists. The group is set to perform at Manchester Cathedral in October.
Cillian Hennessy is an Irish-born cellist based in Manchester currently studying with Gillian Thoday. As a soloist, he has played both within the RNCM and in venues within the city. He has premiered new works in the RNCM Spotlight Concert series and in projects with dancers from the Northern Ballet School, and performed in French music themed concerts at the Anthony Burgess Foundation and Alliance Français.
Luca den Hollander, born in the Netherlands and raised in Italy, is currently studying with Frank Wibaut. He has performed at venues including Bridgewater Hall, Stoller Hall, St James’s Piccadilly and is active in both classical and jazz ensembles. His chamber experience spans piano duo, trio, quartet and large contemporary ensembles. In June 2025, he is set to take part in a piano duet performance alongside Steven Osborne.
Henry Grant studies under Susie Meszaros, on a scholarship. He is an established chamber musician regularly taking on jobs across the north of the UK. He has been appointed as principal viola in a production of Mahler’s Symphony No 2 at the Bridgewater hall in June 2025.
Nadia Wilson is studying under Julia Hanson and has played in various chamber ensembles. Recently, she attended the Music Embodied chamber course in Cornwall, run by Brodsky Quartet member, Krysia Osostowicz, where she played in a piano trio with Marie Bitlloch, receiving coachings from both of them. As well as this, she’s recently played alongside musicians from Manchester Camerata, the Academy of Ancient Music and the RNCM Chamber Orchestra with Henning Kragerud.
